Favorite Verse: Therefore, I urge you, brothers, in view of God's mercy, to offer your bodies as living sacrifices, holy and pleasing to God- this is your spiritual act of worship. Do not conform any longer to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God's will is- his good, pleasing and perfect will. ~Romans 12:1-2

Favorite Book of the Bible: Ruth. I love how Ruth left her home town and all she knew, was loyal to her mother-in-law, and, above all, trusted God would provide their every need!

History of Where God's Lead Me: I was born and raised in Iowa, but I have a passion for traveling. As a young person I went with my church, The Bloomfield United Methodist Church (still my home church), on youth trips to Wyoming. My first overseas trip was to Australia and New Zealand with People to People, Dwight Eisenhower's student ambassador program designed so students could help build relationships cross culturally. A gal I met on that trip was totally out for God, and I noticed she only listened to Christian music. I didn't even know there was such a huge pool of Christian music. A couple years later, I went on another People to People trip to Europe. I made the decision to only bring Christian CD's. I had only one Christian CD and decided to listen to only that CD while I was gone. It was called something like Simply Survival. I was honoring God with what I was listening to, and I really felt Him taking it as my choice to obey. My relationship with Him took off (He saw I was ready to go deeper with Him).

As a senior in high school I traveled, a little closer to home, to Marshalltown, IA to attend a retreat called Chrysalis. Before I got there I was excited about God, but when I left I was all out for God. Leading a life for Christ was now the only option in my eyes!

After high school, God lead me to Colorado for two years. During this time I attended Youth with a Mission (YWAM) Dicipleship Training School (DTS) in Golden, CO. I went on my first mission trip to Thialand and the Philippines. It was so different than other trips I'd taken. I felt God opening my eyes to the work he's doing in Asia and beyond. I learned to hear His voice better and to act on what I heard. My team got to put what we learned in discipleship school to practice on the missionfield. I wanted to pursue His will more than anything, and I had a great passion for what His heart is.

After DTS, I lived with my grandma's friend and worked at an assisted living facility in Arvada, CO. I did that in order to raise money to attend a school of Biblical Studies Core Course (SBSCC) through YWAM in Trinadad, CO. After SBSCC I again entered the mission field, this time to Nepal. WYAM and my mission trips showed me a little piece of God's heart for the nations, and its radically changed my life.

During my SBSCC with WYAM I also began to feel called to teach, and that lead me to Central Christian College of the Bible in Moberly, MO for one year. I then moved back to Iowa where I began continuing my education with the intention of getting a degree in elementary education.

As I was working on my teaching degree I began to feel God giving me a strong desire to pay off my student loans. Also, I still felt called to teaching, but began to feel it might be in a different capacity than I first invisioned. So, with God's guidance, I finished up my A.A., and began searching for a job (I'm again prayerfully waiting for employment).

I know God will take care of me, and I intend to follow His plan. In 2009, I met up with Courtney VanSkike and Jennifer Crady who shared the passion God had placed on their hearts to minister to women in Southeast Iowa. I knew what they were talking about was a God thing, and that part of God's plan for me is doing His work through Life Empowered. I am called to the Life Empowered Board as the Hospitality Coordinator. I am also heavily involved in leading (teaching) our Girls Discipleship Study. I am actively praying for and am part of the early planning stages of a live-in discipleship program for women called the Life Empowered House.

I've learned when God calls you His plans are perfect, but they may not look just the way you thought. For me that means pursuing teaching the way God intended, and following His lead day by day.

Random Thoughts From Krissy's Nogin: I think it should be illegal to serve breakfast at supper time. Coffee is always better served over ice.

Commonly Used Phrases: What the mess?, Pretty Much, You Guys, Awesome, Sweet, Stinkin
